Quick Charge (QC):
QCor quick charge is a way of charging mobile phones and many such devices via USB. Generally, the devices to be charged have Qualcomm processors. Sometimes, the devices are charged only if the charger supports the processor installed in the device.
Thesedevices charge electronic gadgets faster than regular USB cable chargers while avoiding battery damage that happens while charging with a cable charger. In these QC chargers, the voltages are regulated internally.
Thelatest release was Quick Charge 5, which has a power of more than 100W and charges mobile phones from 0 to 100 in just 15 minutes. It has tremendous thermal management of up to 40 °Cas well. The processors supported by this version of chargers are Snapdragon 888 and 888+, 8 Gen 1, and 8+ Gen 1.
Power Delivery (PD):
PDor power deliver chargers are the regular chargers with a USB cable and adapters. But these chargers have C-type USB cables. These cables are different than the standard USB cables. They are easier to insert than the standard USB as these types of USB have no front or back sides. It can be inserted in any way.
TheseC-type USBs can transfer data faster, and the current and voltage flowing through them are higher than the voltage flow via the regular USB. But the main problem here is that the USB cables transmit charge in these chargers. It does not determine the amount of charge it provides to the device.
Theamount of charge transmitted depends upon the adapter's nature and durability, which might vary depending upon the company of the adapter. And these charges are directly connected to the power boards. Thus, high charging can damage the gadget and the charger and affect other appliances connected to the same circuit.
